Nancy O'Dell's debut job in the broadcast industry was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she was an anchor and morning reporter for WCBD TV. The stories she reported in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police when it comes to DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. It led to states authorities enforcing more rigorous guidelines in these cases. According to the Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with an award for the Best Report of the year award for every aspect of South Carolina media. O'Dell's work in Charleston was the reason she joined as co-anchor and investigative reporter and anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before joining Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as the NBC weekend co-anchor. O'Dell is a leading anchor at Access Hollywood. In addition, she contributes in NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She covered events such as The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. She also hosted Miss America's Pageant as and the Miss Universe Pageant.
